National Advisory Board
The National Advisory board is a group of community leaders across Texas who share
a passion for improving women's health. The members come from varied backgrounds and
advise the Executive Director on ways to advance and enhance the Institute's mission
and programs while serving as ambassadors for the Institute.

Community Advisory Board
Background
The Laura W. Bush Institute for Women's Health was founded in 2007. It has worked with TTUHSC faculty members, organizations, hospitals,
and experts in women's health to create a network of researchers, practicing health
care providers, and community activists who strive for better education and improved
standards of care for women.
Vision
To maintain a national position as leaders in women's health and to promote personalized
medicine throughout Texas and the nation, while remaining committed to enriching the
lives of women and girls in our communities.
Mission
To promote health, individually inspired, through scientific investigation, translation
of science into practice, and providing outreach that impacts each community.
Purpose
Each Community Advisory Board (CAB) exists to embody the Laura W. Bush Institute for
Women's Health throughout the region served. The CAB's purpose is to recommend programs
and partnerships that support the mission of the Institute. That may include educational
programs, public relations, fundraising and promotions. Ideas and suggestions from
CAB members are discussed at meetings and given every consideration. The CAB is a
non-governing board with no fiduciary liability.
Expectations of Members
- Enthusiastically serve as a community liaison by sharing the Institute's mission and
vision.
- Share your talent, experience and expertise to improve the Institute's ability to
meet the needs of women and girls in the region served.
- Provide strategic input with perspective, guidance and advice on programs, outreach,
messaging and community trends.
- Attend CAB meetings regularly.
- Assist with one fundraising event each year. Purchase a sponsorship and/or sell sponsorship
tables for the fundraising event.
